Industrial Style Kitchen - Chelsea Apartment

This light-filled apartment in Chelsea gave us the perfect canvas to create something a little different. With high ceilings, amazing views and a client who loved the industrial look, we set out to design a industrial style contemporary kitchen that felt bold and functional, but still had warmth and personality.

The space had great bones - loads of height, plenty of natural light, and an open-plan layout that allowed the kitchen to really stand on its own. We leaned into that with a metallic steel exterior on the units, a dark grey interior for contrast, and a custom mild steel frame that gives the whole design its structure and edge.

To stop things from feeling too cold or heavy, we brought in walnut accents - just enough warmth to soften the steel and concrete without compromising the industrial feel. The worktops are poured concrete, chosen for both their durability and their raw, honest texture.

Storage was a big part of the design too. Floating steel shelves lined in leather add a softer touch, while an overhead pot and pan rack makes the most of the ceiling height. One of our favourite details is the reeded glass mid-height cabinet, which includes open book storage - a practical feature, but also one that brings a bit of softness and character into the space.

This industrial kitchen in Chelsea is very much tailored to its setting. It works hard, looks sharp, and fits the apartment perfectly – a space that feels solid, well thought-out, and just a little bit unexpected.
