London is a hive of creativity whatever the season, but there’s one event in the calender when it’s possible to see all the best interior designers and their products in one place: the Decorex International Exhibition. This year it runs from the 25th – 28th September at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and I, for one, am very excited about visiting.

Cherry-picked designers will exhibit all manner of homewares from retro-inspired wallpapers, to objet d’art for the garden. In fact, the current tally for exhibitors stands at 308. So, what with a champagne bar, a café and Ranelagh restaurant, it’s highly likely I’ll need more than a day to take it all in.

That was definitely the case back in 2009 when I exhibited the first Goldman & Rankin display at Decorex. It was a fantastic event and I really enjoyed meeting new design industry friends – plus all the feedback on our bespoke furniture was exceptionally positive.

I displayed some key new pieces such as a Mirrored Deco Wardrobe in Walnut wood, a painted Ash console table with a Maple leather interior, and a Walnut dressing table with a triple mirror and leopard print stool. It was wonderful to get so many good reactions to the work, and my creative senses were tingling as I checked out all the other exhibitors on show too. I was particularly impressed by designers such as Godrich Design Collective, Nina Campbell and Ginny Avison Designs, and this year I’m hoping to discover plenty more new talented designers.

With under a week left until the doors open at Decorex International 2011, I’m excited to see what new trends will be on show and what directions the wonderful world of interior design is heading. Be sure to check back here next month for an update on how it all went.

In the meantime, you can have a look at plenty of the Goldman & Rankin furniture on our website.
